Another super exciting fun knitblog

  • November Knit Goals

I'm prone to being a scatterbrain, so I try to make a short list of things to accomplish each month (lest I have 27 different non matching socks).

Same as last month: Sleep more. Study more. Knit more. Sleep more.

Stuff I get in the mail

Posted by Amber on September 8, 2008

The other day I wanted to start Icarus (rav link), so I went to find my copy of Interweave with the pattern.  There’s something that really bothers me about the spine of IK:

Have any ideas what my complaint might be?  Here’s another periodical I subscribe to, that might be a hint:

Now do you see it?  No?  Nat Geo puts the issue (month/year) on the upper half of the spine, and the articles on the lower half.  IK is the opposite.  So when the magazines are in magazine holders, you can’t see which issue of IK you have, without taking it out of the holder.

Other stuff I get in the mail?  The Knit/Purl Sock Club!

Specially dyed Koigu, a fun looking pattern, a fun little book with sort of a quick faq on like, needle conversions, and a fun little card with the dye inspiration for the month.  It really makes me miss Portland.  Maybe they’ll make an OMSI inspired colorway, too.  That would be fun

I SO know what you mean about the Interweave Spines! I mentally complain about that every time I look for a particular issue.

“Spin-Off” is worse–they recently switched to a folded, rather than flat, spine, which means there isn’t any labeling at all. Gah!

OMG – I completely agree with you on the IK’s spine! I ran into the same trouble last week when I was looking for the Fall 2007 issue. I might as well just put them in the box unside down – URGH!

Anyway…just reading through your back-blogs…hope you have a great week!
