Yarny Goodness!

Another super exciting fun knitblog

  • November Knit Goals

I'm prone to being a scatterbrain, so I try to make a short list of things to accomplish each month (lest I have 27 different non matching socks).

Same as last month: Sleep more. Study more. Knit more. Sleep more.

Summertime yarn!

Posted by Amber on June 4, 2008

So it doesn’t feel particularly summery today in the greater DC area. Huge storm mid afternoon, power was out all along my street (I have power, but no TV at home. Guess it’s time for a DVD!)

But, it feels summery in my house because I got two new yarns in the mail recently! First, about a week ago I got 9 balls of Valley Yarn Southwick to make Kate Gilbert’s Camellia:

Yes – that’s black! What an unusual choice for me, not going with the purple!

Southwick is a 52% pima cotton/48% bamboo blend — it has a very different feel than Classic Elite’s Cotton Bam Boo, but I think it will still work well. I need to go wash my swatch so I can get started on this sweater.

Next up, the Jimmy Bean’s/Lorna’s Laces special collaborative color – Blueberry Snowcone:

There’s always something new and purple-y in my house.

And can I just say how continually happy I am with Jimmy Beans? I ordered the yarn on SUNDAY, and here it is today! All the way from NEVADA.

I’m not sure what pattern I’m going to use – I never really know with Lorna’s until I cast on. If you have a favorite LLSS-Multi pattern – let me know!
